The project story
Challenge
Ensure operational continuity while modernizing data replication, reducing risks and eliminating recurring failures in a highly critical environment.
The project demanded high precision to avoid downtime and preserve data integrity throughout the migration. In parallel, the operation needed reliable indicators on fleet maintenance and passenger demand.
Approach
We structured the Oracle GoldenGate implementation with continuous replication (CDC) from on-premises Oracle to Azure, data modeling, a data catalog, masking policies, automated CI/CD flows, and Python scripts.
On top of that foundation, we built Power BI and Microsoft Fabric dashboards with semantic models for fleet maintenance and passenger operations: wheel and consumables condition, train occupancy, and demand forecasting.
Result
We migrated 36 instances safely, cut recurring failures by 60%, and sped up recovery from hours to minutes. The replication layer is now stable, governed, and ready for BI and AI.
In fleet BI, maintenance moved from corrective to preventive, with +60% consumables lifespan and a projected avoided cost of R$430M through 2040.
In passenger operations, reporting to the granting authority was automated, and demand forecasting supported postponing the purchase of new trains by 4 years.
